Welcome to the New Era: Why the Future Belongs to the Energetically Aligned
In 2015, something clicked.
I sat in the audience as NYT columnist Thomas Friedman quoted Astro Teller on the Age of Acceleration. He described the exponential rate of change across technology, communication, and climate—and how our human adaptability simply isn’t evolving at the same pace.
A graph showed three lines shooting skyward. Meanwhile, the curve of human adaptability stayed almost flat.
The result? Overwhelm, collapse, and a collective grasp for simple answers to complex realities.
That talk changed me.
In 2016, I gave a talk at Portland Design Week called Staying Relevant in the Age of Acceleration. It explored not just where we were going—but what we would need to become to thrive.
Ever since, my work has pivoted toward one clear intention:
How do we stay human—and creative—in a world transforming faster than we can track?
Ten years later, I finally have language for what I’ve been sensing all along.
2027: The End of the Era of Planning
According to Human Design and ancient energetic systems, we are transitioning out of the Era of Planning (1615–2026)—a paradigm built on systems, control, logic, and institutional trust—and into the Era of the Individual, where energetic sovereignty, adaptability, and inner authority take the lead.
We’re already watching it unfold.
Systems once deemed unshakable—governments, healthcare, education, fashion, energy—are all under pressure. And let’s be honest: no system goes down without a fight.
But this isn’t chaos. It’s clearing.
And if you’re someone who has felt the fracture between the world as it is and the world as it could be, then you’re already standing at the threshold of this New Era.
Real Leadership Requires Real Risk
A coaching client of mine—a creative leader in the apparel industry—told me about a moment in 2020, shortly after George Floyd’s murder. She courageously opened a dialogue with her team about race, belonging, and what it meant to show up human at work.
“I thought I was doing the right thing,” she told me.
But she was quickly reprimanded:
“Why did you talk about that at work? You’re not supposed to bring that into the environment.”
This is what the old paradigm sounds like—fear of feeling, fear of nuance, fear of breaking the illusion of professionalism-as-disconnection.
And yet, that moment of vulnerability created trust. It created safety. Her team felt seen and heard. They created better work. They felt more connected to one another—and to themselves.
In creative industries, that’s everything.
Trust and safety are the soil of innovation.
Without them, creativity withers.
The New Leadership Isn’t Loud. It’s Coherent.
This New Era of leadership asks something different of us:
- Not strategy first, but energy first
- Not “power over,” but presence with
- Not blueprints, but inner maps
- Not productivity, but resonance
It doesn’t mean we abandon structure—but that we build it differently. From a deeper place. From coherence.
And this is where my work now lives:
Helping visionary women and leaders calibrate their energy, re-align with their inner truth, and lead from the frequency of who they truly are.
