According to a 2024 McKinsey report, 82% of U.S. consumers say wellness is a top or important priority in their lives, and 58% are investing more in it than last year.
And yet… we’re still exhausted.
We’re still chasing calm. Still grinding in high-functioning burnout. Still searching for something that finally makes us feel like we can exhale.
We buy the supplements, download the meditation apps, book the acupuncture and the colonic, and buy the expensive juices. Our bodies are crying out for peace, our nervous systems are still frazzled, but most of us are stuck treating the symptoms of stress, not the root cause.
We’ve been sold a lie that healing must be expensive, elite, or aesthetic.

Years ago, a friend of mine was flying across the country when she passed out on the plane. Mortified, she was rushed to a hospital and underwent a battery of tests. The diagnosis? Burnout.
And what crushed her the most was a diagnosis that in her mind screamed “weakness”.
She mentioned, “It felt like it should have been something more profound. I didn’t feel entitled to the care or the worry.”
That’s the thing about burnout. It has become so normalized that we no longer feel justified in collapsing under its weight.
We apologize for our exhaustion. We blame ourselves for being unable to keep up. We silently carry the pressure, waiting until our bodies force us to stop.
We’ve forgotten that our nervous system has limits. And many of us are way past them.

💸 The American Institute of Stress estimates that U.S. employers lose $300 billion annually due to workplace stress through absenteeism, turnover, lost productivity, and healthcare costs.

💸 And the average cost of burnout per employee ranges from $4,000 to $21,000 annually, depending on role and seniority.
