Three empowering Questions when you feel triggered.

We’re in week 6 now of our shelter-in-place order here in Oregon and it’s just too easy to get irritated when the entire family is sitting on top of each other. When you are the mom, teacher, playmate while working a full time job from home. Or you got furloughed and worry about your income. Or lost your job completely, or are mourning the loss of a loved one.

We all are living through a collective grief. Because what once was will no longer be the same from when we left it. How do we want to emerge from this? How do we want to be?

And this is a not very intuitive trick: Notice your emotions. Notice what triggers you, how it makes you feel. The more intense the emotion, the more profound the nugget of truth that can be found within.

When our buttons are pushed, and we feel anger, frustration, anxiety, fear it holds a clue!
Once we solve it, we climb the ladder of consciousness, of awareness.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Something that needs to be released, that’s holding us back from fulfilling our deepest desires, is packaged in that trigger.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Once you have calmed down, grab a journal and reframe: ⠀⠀
1. What if what happened didn’t happen ‘to’ me, but ‘for’ me?⠀⠀
2. What am I supposed to learn about me from this?⠀⠀
3. How do I want to actually think about the situation that serves me better in the future? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
