Forty years ago, my father pretended to emigrate to Tucson. He set up a PO Box, told everyone he’d left Germany… all to dodge child support. Now here I am, decades later, walking those same streets with my daughter. Staying for a few nights. Taking in the desert beauty. Contemplating the future. And realizing… wow. Life really comes full circle. That time in my life was confusing. Ridiculous, really. Just like right now feels for so many of us. But here’s what I know: This too shall pass. Better days are ahead. If we keep believing in ourselves, our path, and the bigger picture. If you’re in a season of chaos or fear, you’re not alone. There are tools that help: like Breathwork and meditation. WTF just happened. (Not clickbait— the actual v WTF just happened. (Not clickbait— the actual vibe.) The Trump-era tariffs just slammed into the apparel and footwear industry, and while we don’t yet know what this means for each of us personally, we know what it means for the industry: 🚨 Major disruption. 🌍 Factories overseas? Taxed. 📦 Supply chains? Choked. 📉 Margins? Slashed. If you’re in a creative leadership role, you’re expected to “lead through this” with optimism, resilience… maybe even a smile. But here’s the truth: Everything’s about to get more expensive—or quality will take a hit. And that’s just the beginning. This isn’t just a supply chain issue. This is a systems collapse—and it’s exposing the fragility of how we’ve always done things. So now what? We have two choices: Resist. Or surrender. (Or, let’s be honest—some awkward blend of both.) But let’s reframe: Surrender doesn’t mean giving up. It means staying awake, present, open. It means leading with curiosity instead of panic. It means breathing through the volatility instead of performing stoicism. ✨ This is where real leadership begins.
